As a conservative, I’m tired of government taxing us into a corner. Here’s what I want to do: I’ll introduce legislation to cut the income tax completely—eliminate it so your paycheck stays yours and we can try to match states like Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. Those places pull in jobs and growth with no income tax—why not Iowa?

If getting rid of it entirely isn’t realistic right off the bat, I will help to deliver tax cuts that bring it down lower than it is now, because you shouldn’t be stuck paying more than necessary. I’ll also push to gut wasteful spending in Des Moines—every dollar they waste is one they’ve taken from us. I can’t promise it’ll all happen overnight, but I’m in this to push for relief that makes Iowa competitive for families and businesses.”
