Iowa Voter Information

  • Registration Deadline: You must be registered at least 15 days before Election Day, or register in person on Election Day at your polling place.
  • Eligibility: You must be a U.S. citizen, an Iowa resident, and at least 18 years old on Election Day.
  • Absentee Voting: Iowa voters can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail. Apply through the Iowa Secretary of State's office.
  • ID Required: Iowa requires voters to show a valid photo ID at the polls. Accepted IDs include an Iowa driver's license, Iowa non-operator ID, passport, military ID, and others.
